Hi, I'm Anita

For 40+ years, I've helped middle aged and older adults improve their emotional well-being and navigate life issues.

I'm a Licensed Master Clinical Social Worker who has taught college courses on aging, published a book, and worked in mental health and hospice settings.

If you or your loved one are struggling with emotional or age-related issues, call me to schedule an appointment at (586) 204-1997

How Therapy and Coaching Work

I perform both therapy and coaching. Therapy is limited to Michigan residents per license requirements, but I can see coaching clients from anywhere in the world.

Therapy is for problems of a clinical nature, like anxiety disorders, depression, or grief issues. It's focused, regular, and usually limited in duration. I'm an eclectic therapist who draws from different modalities (like CBT, mindfulness, client-centered therapy, and motivational interviewing).

Coaching is for non-clinical issues, like finding life purpose, retirement issues, or caregiving issues. It's more general and free-flowing, and can be as frequent or infrequent as you need.

I'm an in-network provider for Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, and United Healthcare / Optum. If you are on a different PPO, I can supply you with a statement that you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement as an out-of-network provider.

I also accept private pay. The cost for a session is $125. I accept all major credit cards and PayPal.

All sessions are held by videoconference or phone—from the comfort of your home!

In my clinical experience, I've found that therapy and coaching via videoconferencing and phone is just as effective as in-person visits.

If you have access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a camera, we can do videoconferencing. If you've used Zoom or Facetime before, the tool I use is very similar. Otherwise, we can talk via phone.
